the beijing air

on arrival in beijing the warnings about air quality were immediately evident. the sky was fairly thick with the haze of pollution. yesterday and this morning the strong winds have cleared the air quite well...although i am guessing somebody east of beijing is getting what was blown out of here. the shot below is from day one and is looking back at our hotel and the power plant smoke stack directly behind it...any wonder?
